The DDE annual meeting is being planned now - do you have ideas on what should be presented? Speakers? Location? Please contact us at DDEnewsletter@gmail.com and share your ideas. The eastern plains chapter is host this year, and the meeting will be in the Sioux Falls area.

The Ride A Test format clinics in Pierre SD that were scheduled for June have been rescheduled to August 20 -21 (due to weather).
Dorothy Mueller and Anne Krejci will again be the clinicians. This will be at Teddies Tack shop; there is also an inviting cross country course that is great for folks just wanting to try it out, and a lovely area to trail ride. Contact Teddie 605-280-3827.

Tthe DDE recognized shows, Dakota HorseFest I & II will be in Huron on July 16 & 17, 2011.

There will be a James River Dressage chapter meeting on Saturday, March 19, at 12:30 at the Plains restuarant in Huron SD. All are welcome!

The eastern plains chapter of DDE met will do a book club discussion over the next few meetings, to be held the last Saturday of each month at 4pm in Sioux Falls, at 101 S Main Avenue, in the basement meeting room. All are welcome to join BOOK CLUB in discussing “The New Ride With Your Mind Clinic: Rider Mechanics—Basics to Brilliance” by Mary Wanless. At the February 26 meeting, the introduction through chapter 3 will be discussed; chapters 4-7 will be discussed at the March 26 meeting, and chapters 8 through the end will be discussed at the April 30 meeting. All meetings are potluck & start at 4 pm. Call Judy or Joann for info.

DDE holds monthly call in business meetings via teleconference on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The call in number is 1-219-509-8222, and access code 470135. February, March & April meetings start at 830 central time, and beginning in May, the 9 pm time resumes.

There will be a James River Dressage meeting at 12:30 pm, Saturday, January 29th at the Plains in Huron.

The Eastern Plains chapter is holding a Pot Luck/Video Night/Meeting on Saturday, January 29th at 5pm. The get together is in the basement level of the Historic Security Bank Centre, 101 S Main Street, down town Sioux Falls. [Off street parking is available on the ramp for free - access the ramp via 9th street, between shipleys dry cleaning & the historic security bank building. Enter the building via the back door on the ramp, go up the steps & around the corner to the left, take elevator from 3rd floor to basement. Call 951-6584 to be let in, if needed.

Everyone is invited!! DDE members & non members & prospective members are invited to a party at Mickie and Gary Kriedler's in Madison SD. The party will begin at 1 pm . Need directions? Call Mickie at 605-291-9924.

Mickie is making Lasagna, please bring a dish to share. There is also a gift exchange ($10).

The chapter plans to discus plans for the Sioux Falls horse fair, and more.
